The Hutchins Street Square Foundation was formed in 1979 in order to pursue funding for what stands today as the "crown jewel" of Downtown Lodi.
The ongoing mission of the Foundation Board of Hutchins Street Square is to direct, guide and monitor the continued development and use of the Square and to foster contributions for the educational, cultural and social needs of our entire community.
We envision the energy and enthusiasm of the community perpetuates the Square as the social, cultural, and historic heart of Lodi.
Message from the Chairman
It is an honor for me to be associated with the Hutchins Street Square Community and Conference Center -- the Crown Jewel of Lodi. More than just a building, the Square is the heart of Lodi as well as the anchor for the downtown rediscovery. The Square houses programs for all ages from the Adult Day Care, Senior Services Center, Camp Hutchins Child Care, the Youth Commission, the Arts Commission, the Arts Project Fund, and the Lodi Community Foundation.
The vision that a group of community volunteer leaders had in 1979 when they looked at the burned-out, abandoned site of the original Lodi High School was truly remarkable. Today, that vision is a reality and that volunteer spirit is still very much alive and well at the Square. Currently we have hundreds of volunteers giving thousands of hours of their time to make the Lodi community a better place.
The Square is a gift to the citizens of Lodi, and with your help will be around for generations to come as the social, cultural, and historic heart of Lodi.
Join us as a member today and continue to pledge your support of Hutchins Street Square.
