The Lodi Community Concert Association Presents

January 25   7:00 pm

Lodi Community Concert Association presents " Pavlo"

For being all instrumental, Pavlo’s Mediterranean music speaks for itself. Over the span of his 20-year career, Pavlo, the internationally renowned, award-winning recording artist, performer and songwriter, has released 11 albums of his own music, plus two collaborative projects, including 2015’s Guitarradas with Remigio Pereira, and 2009’s Trifecta with fellow guitar masters Rik Emmett and Oscar Lopez.

Born in Toronto to Greek parents, Pavlo has made a name for himself by offering a musical amalgam he simply calls “Mediterranean music” – a blend of Greek, flamenco, Latin, and even Balkan flavours, wrapped in contemporary pop. His music has taken him all around the world. Along the way he’s performed for royalty in the likes of Prince Charles and worked and toured with artists such as José Feliciano, Jon Secada, Olivia Newton-John and The Tenors.

Mania!  The Live Beatles Experience

February 17    7:00 pm

The Beatles band Mania is preparing to hit the Charlene Powers Lange Theatre like the Beatles hit the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964! The original band was formed in 2004 and was named Because. Since then the band has been playing to packed theaters and screaming audiences. “I could not be more excited about bringing this great band to Hutchins Street Square” according to John Zurflueh, owner of Starbright Entertainment. I have known these guys for a few years now and each of them define the essence of the original Beatles, not only musically but their mannerisms, look and a show that includes three period outfit changes. Beginning with the black suits from the Ed Sullivan Show, then the Sgt. Pepper era and finishing with the Abbey Road set, all in a live concert just full of energy both from the band and the audience! This is a show for all generations, so get your friends and family together for a ton of fun and a memorable evening!

Amazing Magic of Shadow

March 24  8:00 pm

Hutchins Street Square Presents: Catapult.  As seen on NBC's America's Got Talent! #AGT. Catapult Entertainment provides LIVE shadow performances + HD shadow films. Highlights:

Catapult is, technically, a shadow dance company.  What it really is:  a theatrical art form that is an amazingly imaginative combination of dance, story-telling, and sculpture.   Founded in 2009, by Adam Battlestein (choreographer, Creative Director and Master Teaching Artist for Pilobolus Dance Theatre for 19 years), Catapult catapulted to fame on Season 8 of America’s Got Talent, earning their way to the finals of the NBC-TV hit show.

Catapult is all about the human body and its ability to transform.  The talented Catapult dancers work behind a screen to create seemingly impossible dancing shadow silhouettes of shapes from the world around us. You won’t believe your eyes as you watch these incredible dancers become a mountain, a full size elephant, a helicopter, a house with a window and people inside the window.  You will never figure out how they do it, and you won’t know what they will make next – you will be surprised and delighted again and again. Audiences of all ages love what appear to be effortless transformations and applaud over and over as more and more unbelievable images appear.
